Kansas Senate Poll

A new poll finds Rep. Jerry Moran leading Rep. Todd Tiahrt 40-33% in the race for the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Sam Brownback. Compared to an identical SurveyUSA poll released 2 months ago, Moran is up 3 points. Tiahrt is down 1.

27% were still undecided - still a sizeable chunk this early out. Tiahrt recently went up on TV - we'll see if that can help him star swaying some of the undecideds his way. The only analysis we can make at this point is that this is going to get heated, quickly!

  1. I'm disgusted that Jerry would go after Tiahrt's family. How dare he question their family's decision to stay together in their time of need.

Moran is a coward. Perhaps he'll run and hide from his first real election like he does from tough votes

  2. Taihrt should spend less time blogging and more time hiring a good defense lawyer for the earmark ethics investigation underway.

  3. Tiahrt's falling fast. How dare Tiahrt use his son's suicide as a cop out.

Todd's not a Kansan. He can't raise money. He gives people the creeps.

    He's not a good guy.

  4. Rep. Tiahrt is The Real Deal. He stands for all Kansans.
Ask Nancy Pelosi about the trumped up ethic charges. She is sitting on the release.
Where was Moran at Kansas Day: Not showing up for the 4th District meeting; No show for the Delegate meeting claiming he had laryngitis; Miraculously recovering his voice when seen in the hallway after.

  7. I think we are lucky to have two good candidates for Brownback's senate spot (and very luck if we get Brownback as governor). However, I think Moran's growing up a native Kansans has a LOT of weight and everything Moran has done shows he is still in touch with the down-to-earth average rural Kansan. I've also met Moran a few times going way back to when he was in the Kansas Senate (and know some people who knew Moran in high school) and he seems to be a genuinely nice and selfless guy.
